The Myth:  The name "Diles & Rinies" comes from Dilos Island and its nearby Rinia, directly opposite. Local fishermen call this island complex with the surrounding small rocky islands “Diles”, hence the name of our Estate. Our guests realize the special brightness of light and the elements of peacefulness & energy that prevail in our location. Looking at Dilos Island, it’s easy to find an explanation, thinking of the story of Apollo’s birth on Dilos. According to Ancient Greek mythology, Apollo was the God of light and sun, and he was also associated with healing, harmony, music and balance. He was born on Dilos with his twin sister Artemis, the moon-goddess. Both islands are Natura protected areas, they are not inhabited and Dilos is one of the most worth visiting historical and archaeological sites in Greece.
